Mother Nature

My cute cousin Audrey posted this on her blog last night and I loved it so much that I'm "stealing" it (hopefully with delayed permission) and sticking it here, because I couldn't agree more with it! Enjoy!!

I feel like it's Mother Nature's favorite time to torture me. I can just hear her talking to Father Time now. She says, "Oh, the humans are getting Spring Fever again. They are so very, very restless and the children are tired and onery from being cooped up indoors, resulting in the ability to drive the adults bonkers. Let's play a practical joke on them. Let's have it be warm and 65 degrees for three days and then, just when the humans have decided they are in complete heaven and can breathe again, basking in it's warmth, let's pull it right out from under them and make it 10 degrees for the next seven to ten days with bitter winds and icy colds. And let's do that over and over again for 31 days, non-stop. Ha, ha, ha. That sounds like so much fun!!! Neener, neener. I've got complete and utter control and those measley humans can do nothing but deal with it..." And Father Time, knowing that Mother Nature is possibly suffering from PMS or some other weird excuse for changing her mind constantly (and he's afraid to say anything because he's seen what she's capable of doing in her wrath), he nods his head and simply says "Yes, Dear."

I wish he'd stand up to her and for once yell out "Woman, make up your mind!"

Layton

Yesterday after work we were totally craving Training Table and feeling a little antsy to get out of the valley! We called up Tyson & Leisa and met them in Layton for dinner! We were excited to see them and to meet their sweet little guy! We had a fabulous time chatting and cuddling the baby!! Here are some pics from the evening!! (After I've had my photo editing fun!!)

The Next Book I Buy...

Being an FCHD/Deaf Ed Major, I'm learning a lot, a lot, a lot about appropriate play and development for children! This book has been recommended SO many times - and it is officially on my "to read/do/buy list." If any of you have read it, I'm very curious to know your thoughts!!

Health and Well Being

I got this e-mail from my cute mother in law today:

"Hi there;
I was really bored here at work and went onto your blog. It hasn’t been updated for a long time! Are you okay?
Lynnette"

So Lynnette, this post is for you! I am doing great! Nate is doing great! We are doing great! We have just been lazy in posting and have been enjoying our free time together! Plus, Spring Break is over now... and unfortunately we can't spend all day playing online anymore (and we can't check blogs at work) :) It's been a busy week with not much to report, so we'll try to do something fun this weekend and have an exciting post in a few days!! Until then, there is homework to be done!!

Just Us... and My Parents... and Our Car...

Sunday we went out to my parents house to spend some time & to show off the new ride! We decided to drive up the canyon so that I could take some pictures of my parents at the request of my sisters! I had my mom take the camera & snap a few shots of Nate & I as well!

These are my cute parents!

Yup! Still my parents... oh, and a me!

And this is our car! We thought the other picture we put on here made it look like a minivan - so we wanted to give you all an accurate view!!

We had a great evening and were happy that we could spend some time with my parents and get some good pictures as well!!

Saturday I had the privilege of hangin' out with Britt and her adorable kids while our hubbies went to a man movie. We went to Joanne's to pick up some stuff to feed Britt's craft addiction and it was there that we found these noodles! We went back to their house and had a good old time playing around with them - as is evident by these pictures!! Thanks for letting me spend the afternoon with you guys, it was fun!!

Santa Fe... Hyundai, that is...

Well, we did it! We finally graduated from a Sedan to an SUV! As our dear friend Brynn put it, we now have a big people car!

Our car has been giving us some hassles over the last little while, and after doing some research, we determined that it wasn't really worth it to fix it up! We hopped on line and did a little looking, and we found this beauty:

We signed papers Friday night to make it official and have had a great time driving it around since! We love it and we feel very blessed to have been able to find it and to get such a great deal on it!

Getting rid of the Stratus was a little bittersweet for me because we've had it for so long & it has taken some hits for us (getting struck by lightening, hearing personal and sometimes emotional conversations, getting forced over a curb... you know, things like that)! I didn't cry, but I was a little sad when we drove away and left it sitting there at the dealership... (moment of silence for the Stratus).

Anyway, we've had the car for a couple of days now and we absolutely love it - especially today in the snowy weather!!

*To end: a plug for the Murdoch Dealership on the North End of town! We LOVE them! They were so helpful and great to work with - so if you're looking for a new ride, check em' out!

My Day

Already today I have been through three shirts - one that I spilled on, one that I dropped on the bathroom floor (the floor was clean, but it was in front of the shelf that holds the litter box and I just can't do it), and the one that I'm wearing...

Then... I was putting on my perfume - sprayin' away... and when I looked down - I noticed that it wasn't perfume I was spraying... it was hairspray!

I'm just waiting to see what else the day has in store for me!!

Attention Annoying Neighbors

Turn down the bass.
Stop smoking by my porch.
Spitting is disgusting.
The four letter word that starts with an F is offensive.
If you get drunk, you're bound to stumble around - just say no.
Get a job.
Use your indoor voice at all times.
No one likes to listen to "Brother Bear" through the walls.
We don't like to hear your arguments.
That cough would go away if you weren't a chain smoker.
I would bring you cookies if I you didn't act crazy.

Okay... I've vented! Now I'll concentrate on doing my pile of homework!

Ads from the Past

My friend sent these to me in an e-mail and I can't not share them with you!! I'm sure glad that I love in the "now-a-days" because some of these things sure don't make sense!!

Enjoy!
