Girls Day

I'm going to let you in on a little secret ...

I am a very LUCKY woman!!

Why?

Because I have TWO best friends!! (Aside from Nate, of course! He is my ultimate best friend!)

I'm pretty sure you'll recognize Brynners & Britt, they've been featured on my blog many a time!!

Today we got together for a long, chatty, tasty and great lunch at the Olive Garden ...

And some crafty fun! (Brynn had to bail to be with her family, but we'll forgive her this time!!)

We saw these earrings on Pinterest (yes, I said Pinterest.) and decided we HAD to try them out!! Here are our blurry versions:

You can see the instructions and original versions here:

It was a wonderful day and it was nice for me to get in some girly time with my girls and to catch up on everything that has been going on this summer!! Love you girlies! Thanks for the great day!

Pinterest

If you haven't heard of it yet, you may be safer to stay away!!

My relationship with Pinterest started last weekend and on Monday I determined that it is a love/hate relationship.

I LOVE it because I find things like this:

And this:

And even this:

Really, it's just a place for me to go to be inspired creatively and mentally, and to create lists of all of my favorite things!!

If you step into the vast world of Pinterest, be sure to look me up and let me know, cuz I'm gunna want to follow you!!

Oh, and don't get too addicted!!

Aggie Ice Cream and the Splash Pad

While my sister Jess was here, Nate's mom came for a visit as well!! We were able to sneak in a few nights to hang out with Nate's family (yes, we were busy!!) with some Aggie Ice Cream and a few minutes at the Splash Pad (before we got rained out)!!

Hanging with Jen & the Boys

The day after my sister Jess left, my sister Jen came to town with her boys for a week! We had a great week full of water fights, movies, swimming at the local pool, card games, Bear Lake and hanging out at the park!!

Thanks for the fun visit Jen!!

... the ending ...

... got our tickets ... saw it at midnight ... LOVED it ... ready to go again ...

Have you seen it yet? If not, GET TO THE THEATER! My ONLY complaint was the fact that Nagini, the giant snake, looked so real, and that is only because I hate snakes!!

Seriously, one of the BEST endings to a series I have ever seen and I can't wait to go see it again!

Did you see it? What did you think?

Catching Up with the Tran Clan - Final Part

Today I am determined to finish up posting about our visit with the Trans!! Here goes!!

July 10th

Jess & Phuc left the kids with my parents and Nate & I for a couple of days to go for a little mini vacation!! We had a great time with them! On Sunday, we headed up the canyon for a picnic but retreated to a park in Hyrum when the bugs took over! We played some cards, some LIFE, some Lord of the Rings Chess, some Tennis & the boys played a little Wall Ball!

The evening brought preparation for "The Blowing" - Devin's version of surviving the wind in Hyrum that was sure to doom us all, building a high end habitat for the caterpillar that Ty found at the park, and snuggling the girls and their American Girl Dolls in their matching jammies!! Oh, and enjoying a very giggly and silly Hallie & Jacie!

July 11th

Nate & I had the kiddos for the day on Monday!! We headed down to the Splash Pad, ate at Pizza Pie Cafe for lunch, relaxed and watched the Yogi Bear Movie and then just hung out at my parents house with some slip and slide, more homework burning and some fireworks! We had a great time with the kids and we were happy to have some "one on one" time with them!!

July 12th
On our last night with the Tran Clan, we had some dinner at Texas Roadhouse and celebrated Jessica and Jacie's birthdays!!

We are so happy that they came to visit and we absolutely loved every minute that we got to spend with them!!

Catchin' Up Part 4/Independence Day

To celebrate our Independence Day, we spent the day with my family at the Hyrum City Parade! It was festive and fun and we even got to see our nephews ride and throw candy from the Text It truck!! We spent the afternoon playing some card games, some chalk squiggle, experimenting with light sticks and watching the Hyrum City Fireworks!!

And just a video of the fireworks for your viewing pleasure!!

For those of you who are interested, I posted some thoughts about Independence Day on my Photography Blog - feel free to take a look!!
