Surfer & Scoutie Roo

My sister, Jen, has two beautiful boys!

We get to see them once or twice a year,

and it always seems to go by too quickly!

We had such a wonderful time while they were here for the week!!

The highlights of our activities were:

The Water BLOB - it was a HUGE hit (see instructions HERE)!!

Noodles & Co. for lunch!!

Watching the boys master their flips on the trampoline!

Watching Nate do flips & aerials (see earlier post)!!

Early morning conversations with Scoutie!!

Hanging out with Jen!!

We love it so much when they come to visit,

and we definitely weren't ready for them to go home yet!!

A Hot Date!!

A few weeks back, Nate & I rounded up Sam & Jack

and took them on a little 'date!'

We had dinner at Burger King, where Sam devoured

the Triple Stacker & Jack played silly King!!

Then we headed up to Old Main!

After a 'science experiment'

(who doesn't love baking soda & vinegar?)

we played on the hill,

took a tour of 'Old Main'

and stopped for some photos on the 'A'.

And no date is complete without ice cream ...

... or some tennis ...
(we really just had to make them run off the sugar
so that their mom wouldn't ban us from taking them on dates ;)

We had so much fun on our date with these two handsome dudes!!

... Summerfest 2012 ...

Well - it was that time again!

The Summerfest has come and gone,

and of course, we LOVED every minute that we were there!!

We did go a couple of times, 

with the Duts & the Wilkies,

and we had SO much fun!!

We listened to some Jazz, 

ate some Crepes,

looked at some AMAZING art,

and had a great time!!

We LOVE the Summerfest!! 

Hey Girl

So if you're on Pinterest,

or on Facebook,

or on-line at all,

you've probably seen the pictures of Ryan Gosling floating around ...

You know ... the

"Hey Girl,

I like that you sit on the couch all day

and haven't showered ..." etc.

So ... in preparation for our next adventure,

I am training someone to take my place at work for when we go.

She is doing a great job but is still in that 'needs encouragement' phase ...

Last week, we were talking and I told her that when I leave,

I'm going to make her a big sign that says, "You've Got It!"

She knows the job so well, and she does have it - sometimes she just needs a confidence boost!!

When I told her that, she said, "Can it be on a photo of Ryan Gosling?"

She was kidding, but it was the start of a beautiful relationship!

I made one for her, then one for my other two co-workers

because I thought they were so fun to make and they LOVED them!!

And lucky you, you get to see them!!

(I had to redact some of our sensitive client information -

that is why there are thick black lines ;)

As you can see, I had a little too much fun,
although, having a little to much fun is never a bad thing!!

I really do love my job, and I'm so blessed to have such awesome ladies to work with -
they aren't really my co-workers, but they are awesome friends,

and I'm starting to get way sad that I won't be able to see them every day!

Morningside Preschool & Kindergarten

I've been struggling with this post for a few weeks!

I wanted to post about my time at Morningside,

but to respect the privacy of the students and their families, 

I wasn't sure how to post pictures!!

I was looking through my pictures this morning

and realized that I could crop out or cover up faces,

so that is exactly what I've done!!

I don't know if I'll be able to convey just how much I loved

being at Morningside during my last Semester and their last few weeks at school!

The teachers are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. and the children are A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E.

I would come home from the school exhausted and needing quiet,

but my craziest days at school C.O.M.P.L.E.T.E.L.Y trumped my best days at the office!

All Semester I have been trying to pinpoint exactly what it was

that I loved so much about Morningside - and when I finally figured it out,

it kind of caught me off guard.

Being with the children, watching them learn,

hearing them laugh and tell silly jokes,

comforting them when they needed it ...

The simple act of interacting with and serving these children 

filled a void in my life.

I knew exactly what was missing, 

I didn't know that this would be the answer.

I'm pretty sure that for the next several years of my life,

I'm going to be very happy at a Preschool!

I would have loved the opportunity to stay at Morningside,

and it is my hope and wish that I will be able to find a school

wherever we end up with the same type of wonderful teachers

and the same type of wonderful curriculum!

And these two ladies - Jacqui & Marie - they are I.N.C.R.E.D.I.B.L.E!! 

I will forever be grateful for their support, their advice, and their friendship!

 

I had such a wonderful experience

and will A.L.W.A.Y.S. have a special place in my heart

for Morningside Preschool & Kindergarten!!

Old Tricks

My sister Jen was here last week with our nephews!! 

We had SO much fun with them and I'll post more pictures about that later ...

While they were were, we spent A LOT of time in my parents back yard,

Which means A LOT of time on the trampoline!!

Their bouncing and flipping, and BEGGING got the better of us,

And we both took some turns showing off some of our skills from our younger days!!

Nate's flips & aerials were amazing!! His skills definitely trumped my knee flips!!

How did I not know about Instagram until a month or so ago?

This app is yet ANOTHER reason why I'm loving my MyTouch!!

And NOW, my Instagram photos are automatically uploaded to my own Instagrid!!

Seriously! I LOVE technology!!

On a different note, adjusting to post graduation life has been very interesting!!
My schedule is such that I'm home from work by 3:00 every day
so I've pretty much got a whole 'day' to kill after I've already worked for 6 hours!!
I'm definitely the kind of person that doesn't just sit still -
I've always got to be working on something (ahem ... thanks for that, mom) ...
I'm definitely loving all my free time,
But it's hard for me not to get restless!!

My house hasn't been this clean in years,
My laundry hasn't been kept up on this well in years,
And my house is going to be SO organized and easy to move in a few months!!

We are excited for June to be up so that we can start applying for jobs
and know where we're going to be headed!
We're pretty anxious and excited to get on with our lives!!

On another different note, my sister Jen is coming to visit this weekend
and I'm So EXCITED!!!

... the small stuff ...

I think I've mentioned this once or twice,

but I LOVE photography!!

I also love that I have a camera phone that takes decent photos!!

Grilled pizzas!

We attempted a Banana Nutella Dessert Pizza - it was fabulous!!

Late lunch date at Jimmy John's to celebrate the last day of finals!!

I arrived at work one day and realized that I had carried this hot pad that was stuck to my jacket with me! No wonder people were looking at me funny as I was walking down Main Street to my office!!

I needed some flowers to dry for my two weeks at the Preschool - 

Nate was kind enough to climb out and pick some for me as we were running errands one night!!

(Don't worry, they were in a field, and they are 'weedy' flowers - so we weren't stealing!)

Nate ordered me a Canvas print of my favorite Campus Photo for Graduation! 

I LOVE it, and I may be addicted to Canvas prints now!!

Lunch with my Grandma (and parents, and Uncle & Aunt) at Golden Corral - 

my grandparents favorite restaurant!!

Mother's Day Pics

For Mother's Day this year, 

we headed out to my parents house to grill some pizzas and play some cards!! 

The pizzas were excellent, the company wonderful

... and the card game? It was a Mother's Day Miracle! 

My mom and I actually won!! 

(This doesn't happen often - we're too risky when it comes to 3's -

 if you've never played Hand & Foot - 

you won't know what this means - sorry!!)

We had a wonderful afternoon!

We are so grateful for the Mother's in our lives 

and we feel so blessed to know so many wonderful women!!
