Utah

This post has been on my mind for quite some time ... for several reasons.

The fact that we hadn't been "home" since we moved (except for a quick trip for me a few years ago) made this trip one that we REALLY looked forward to! We miss SO MUCH about our life in Utah yet we are so blessed and so content here in Oregon - it was so nice to go "home" and get a fill of the things and people that we love and miss and then to come back and re-settle with the things that we love about our life here!

The fact that we got to take our two sweet kiddos to Utah with us was amazing! It was stressful and tiring and awesome and wonderful all in the same breath! It was SO fun to introduce our families to them and to see them connect and experience a large family setting! Even though our trip was 6 months ago Mr. Tease still asks about the people that he met and we talk about the things that we did on the trip! It was SO much fun to take them to our special places - Old Main Hill, Merlin Olsen Park, the Island Market ... these are places that we have always dreamed of sharing with our kids and it was so awesome to be able to share it with them!

The fact that we got to hug and snuggle and tease and play with and SEE our nephews and nieces that we haven't seen in YEARS! It is so ridiculous how busy life gets and the fact that we haven't seen them for so long breaks my heart. This season in our lives is busy and where I was once the aunt that would call once a week and never miss a birthday or a special event I am now the aunt that thinks about them daily but can never seem to find a moment to connect ... we love our nephews and nieces SO much and we are so grateful for this time that we got with them (most of them - there were a few families we didn't get to see which was a huge bummer).

To say that we had a great time in Utah doesn't begin to describe how wonderful it was for us to take a breather from our life in Grants Pass and to reconnect with our roots. We are so blessed hat we were able to go and that we were able to take these two sweet kiddos that we love so much!

... the perfect weekend ...

For some reason over the summer we decided that a trip to Utah wasn’t enough. Just a few weekends after we got back we packed up and headed to the Coast for the weekend! This weekend, with these kiddos, at our most favorite place on earth, was the perfect weekend!

Wiggler LOVED playing in the Sand and dipping her toes in the water! Mr. Tease LOVED building sand castles, flying his kite and running from the waves with Nate & I. We spent some time at the Kite Festival in Brookings, we ate fresh fish at the Brookings Harbor, we spent the night in a hotel at Gold Beach, we stopped at the Redwoods on our way home and we had SO much fun!

It was truly a perfect weekend with them and we are so grateful that we were able to have this experience with them!
