Aunt Clar's Birthday Dinner

We are Sam, Jack and Lizzie. Us and our little sisters went to dinner last night with Aunt Clar for her birthday. She is 31. That's old. We went to a restaurant that had rice and chicken and fish and corn cakes. Aunt Clar let us play with her camera during dinner and these are the pictures that we took. We think they're pretty cool, and so does Aunt Clar. We had fun at dinner and we played around a lot and we got to see the people start Uncle Nate's dinner on fire - we liked that a lot.

Aunt Clar is lucky because she has us as nephews and nieces. She loves us a lot and she is happy that she got to see us on her birthday!!

Backyard BBQ

A few weeks ago we got together with our friends and had a little BBQ! There was a point in our lives when we could get together almost every weekend for yummy food, cards, girls nights, Foosball and many other fun things - that point has passed, and although we see them quite a bit separately, it is far and few between when we all get together at one time!

I should have taken a lot more pictures than I did, but we were having way too much fun!! We always look forward to the BBQ's because we eat good and laugh a lot!! We are grateful to have such wonderful friends!!

... on the way home/Father's Day ...

Nate & I headed out to my parents house this evening to celebrate Father's Day with them!! We had a fabulous dinner that was grilled in the pouring rain, we chatted and had dessert! When it was time to come home, the rain had stopped and this is what we got to see on our drive home (photos taken with Nate's cell phone)!!

We also wanted to take a minute to wish our Fathers and the other Fathers in our lives a Happy Fathers Day!! We are so blessed to be surrounded and influenced by so many wonderful men and we are so grateful for them in our lives!!

Summerfest 2011

It's that time of year again!! The Summerfest came to town again and as always, it didn't disappoint!! We spent some time there on both Thursday and Friday evenings and had a fabulous time browsing through the different booths, discussing the similarities and differences in our views on art, and people watching!!

We always get so excited when the Summerfest comes to town and we're already looking forward to next year!!

Girls Day

Today I got to hang out with my two besties (such a silly word, but I'm using it anyway) and their kiddos!! We had some lunch, played outside, took a few photos, and then let the kids play while we attempted to be crafty! I don't have a photo of the crafts, but I do have a picture of me and the kiddos!!

When I talk about the kids on my blog that I love, I usually categorize them as my nephews and nieces! Just so there is NEVER any question, I think of these kids of my nephews and nieces as well (even Hailey the dog, who incidentally, is my favorite dog ever)!!

I'm so lucky to have two best girl friends and I LOVE when we can get together to hang out and get chatty!

... tuesday morning thoughts ...

Today is Tuesday and I've got a few things on my mind.

Why is it that I get terrified by Thunderstorms and they don't bother Nate? We were both in the car when the lightening struck - it's annoying. Last night we were at a baseball game of a very cute little guy and a crack of thunder drove me to the car. The rain that came down and the lightening that struck soon after drove everyone else to their cars too, but I'm annoyed that I was the first ... Grrr ...

We spent some time with my parents last evening and I found a few scrapbooks that my mom had made! One of them was about our trip to California when I was in 5th grade! I opened it up, read the first page and suddenly I was 10 years old again ... The memories that came with looking at the scrapbook are sweet and I'm grateful that my mom is such a "journaler" - I brought the book home with me so that I could type up what she had written and scan in a few of the things that we had saved from the trip - you can be expecting a post on that later.

I had a dream last night in which I was holding a beautiful baby girl. She wasn't my baby, but the other people in my dream (I have no idea who they were by the way) kept saying things like, "that's going to be you soon," and "look at what a natural you are, you're going to be great." I woke up feeling a mixture of sadness and hope. I was talking with a fellow infertility "haver" (for lack of better term) last week and we talked about hope. We both agreed that while it is good to have hope, the days when you are full of hope are some of the hardest days because at the end of the day, you still go home with nothing and most times it hurts worse than having no expectations. My dream last night gave me hope - it might be a rough day today.

My sister and her family will be here in a week!! I haven't seen them for over a year, and I CAN'T wait for them to get here! Spending time with our families, though sometimes exhausting, rejuvenates me and I can't wait for them to arrive!!

So, there's what is on my mind this morning! I'm riding my bike to work today, so I'd better get going because it always takes me a few minutes longer to get there!!

Oh, and because it physically hurts me to draft a post with no photos, here's a picture for your amusement. Ignore the fact that I look like a preschooler and check out my hot pink bike!!

Tabernacle

So I'm pretty sure that if I have some type of camera on my person at all times, I can keep myself completely entertained - no matter where I am or what is going on!!

On Friday, we had some car scheduling confusion and I had about 20 minutes to kill before Nate picked me up from work! I debated on just walking home, but as I walked through the Tabernacle lawn I couldn't pass up the chance to hang out on the lush green grass!! I pulled out the I-Pod, turned on some tunes, laid back and closed my eyes! That kept me entertained for a bit, but I started to get restless when I realized I had a camera in my purse!

Before I continue, I'll tell you about this camera that I keep in my purse:

Around February of this year, Nate & I decided that we needed a little point and shoot camera/video camera! Our friends had purchased the Flip and we decided that we loved the size and the capabilities! After researching a little, we opted for the Kodak Play Sport and have not regretted the purchase once! It is small - I keep it in my purse at all times for easy photo access, the video quality is good enough for us and our families, and I love the pixelly look and the width of the photos that it takes (most of my previous posts have had pictures done by the Play Sport)! I obviously don't use it for professional sessions(unless requested by the client), but for a quick camera for snapshots, we LOVE it! One more thing that we love about it is that it is sturdy! I have no reservations about giving it to our nephews and nieces and letting capture life as they see it!! Oh, and it is also waterproof, so I won't hesitate to let my mom use it (hee hee, love you mom!! :)

Wow - that was lengthy - please accept my apologies please :)

Now, back to the Tabernacle!! To finish killing the time while waiting for Nate to pick me up, I pulled out the Play Sport and started shooting!! Here are a few of the photos that I got!!

And just a few more!! It was such a beautiful day and I'm glad that our schedules shifted a little bit so that I could take advantage of being outside!!

Spring Soccer Games

One of our favorite things about Spring is going to the soccer games of our nephews & nieces that live close to us!! We had a great time going to the games and watching the difference in the technique and skill between the different ages of groups that played!! Here are just a few pics from the different games that we went to!!

That's all folks!
