The Verdict is In

Thanks to all of you who helped me to pick out the headboard that suits us best!! Here is the beautiful winner! Now, I just need to find time to get it done! Until I do, though, at least I have something to day dream about!!

Cry?

Okay, first of all, I realize that the caption on my picture is only funny if you are a FRIENDS fanatic, such as myself (and my two best girlfriends who shall at this point remain nameless - but nameless 1 and nameless 2 - you'd better have giggled a little).

As I have said, many a time before, I am not a cook! No justification - just a fact! I have chopped onions before - many times, but none of them have ever made me "cry" like this onion did! I kid you not, before I took this picture I had tears rolling down my face...

My tater tot casserole was yummy - so yummy I was sad when I finished it the next day, but I'm wondering if it was worth it? Several tissues and a headache later (because I get headaches when I cry - weird eh?), was the tater tot casserole worth it?

I'm not really sure I have an answer to this question - and I'm not really sure if this post has a point... if this post touched you in some way... great! If not... oh well! That's the chance you take when you read our blog!!

Awwww....

In our new apartment, we have a screen door. When I am home alone, I lock the screen door. Last Saturday morning (NOT Valentine's Day - you will see why this is important in a minute) Nate had a work meeting. He left. I locked the door. He called me on his way home. I heard him pull up. I meet him at the door. This is what he hands me:


Awwww... I know! A beautiful bouquet of red carnations - and again, NOT on Valentines Day! This is important. I don't like flowers on Valentine's Day! I LOVE to be surprised with flowers any other day of the year, because they're not expected. And on that day, these definitely weren't expected!

The fact that he knows me so well just makes me love him all the more!!

My New Favorite Store

Nate & I headed to Cartridge World tonight to check out their toner prices - because with both of us in school, we are going through paper and toner like crazy! We were able to get toner for our printer for half of what it would be at a store like... ahem... Staples... (Nate said we weren't allowed to discuss our purchase inside Staples - it would a little uncomfortable for him), but seriously, it was a way good deal and it works so perfectly that I wanted to spread the joy - you should all shop there - we don't want them going out of business!

Winter Blues

I'm putting this picture on my blog for two reasons:
1 - I am in love with Ansel Adams! Not his person, but his ability for taking such beautiful pictures. Looking at and studying his work makes me dream big and really appreciate life.
2 - The snow this morning has pushed me a little further to the edge. I love the first, second, third and maybe even fourth snow... I hate the cold, the inversion, the constant looking for gloves and scarves, the wind blowing out of the Canyon when I'm trying to get to class, the obstructed view of the Wellsville's on dark days... Pretty much I've decided this: I hate Winter. I am not a Winter person. Our goal is to move somewhere that has mild temperatures all year round (and I've tacked on somewhere with minimal lightening and snakes as a prerequisite - I'm not asking for too much am I?)I'm not surprised that I feel this way - I grew up here and am used to winters like this - but that doesn't mean that I have to like them...

On a happier note - I've been munching on chocolate covered pretzels all morning - they are sure tasty!

Is it just me, or does thinking of a title for your post take up half of your posting time? I have some pictures to post, and I've been sitting at my laptop for about 15 minutes trying to come up with a stupid title for the post... and this is what I've decided:

Tonight... I'm boycotting Post Titles! No perfect title for this post! And guess what, I don't even feel a little bad! Enjoy the pictures!!


I was going for sassy with this pose, but it sure didn't work! So, ignore the silliness and look at the hat! My mom crocheted and and I had to snatch it up!! I'm not sure I'm a hat girl, but I'm sure going to try to wear it, because it's adorable!


My dad drives truck for a living and it's hard to keep in touch with him! I've been BEGGING him to start up a truckin' blog for the past couple of months, and tonight, he did it! We'll see how often he posts, but for the sake of his kids and grandkids (all who live far away from him but me), I think his truckin' blog will be a hit!

Let's Talk Beds...

I LOVE canopy beds... when I was a little girl I wanted a canopy bed so badly. I was doing some wishful thinking this morning and I found this bed... I love it... I love the color, the simpleness, the romanticness (yes, it's a word)... I love it all!

So - a note to my sweet husband (who does, believe it or not, read this blog on occasion) - this is my dream bed... not bedroom - just bed! It is SO beautiful, simple & would look AWESOME in a room with dark walls - so, when we are done with school, live somewhere with more than one bedroom and are finally ready to commit to a furniture set - don't let me forget how excited I was when I found this! Also - I love you - even more than I love this bed!

Superbowl Sunday

It's the big day! The big day when men everywhere conspire to get together and watch teams that they don't really care about and, in my husbands case, drink fake beer (yes, I said fake)... all in the name of football! Nate is hanging out and watching the game with Joe and I am spending time with my parents! Being at different houses on Sunday nights isn't ideal, but on Superbowl Sunday, we'll make an exception!! Go team!!
