yup! still playing catch up here!!
the preparation for our move
and the stress caused by the long drive
is something that i wanted to document quickly!!
our moving schedule was as follows:
pack up truck -thursday evening
finish packing and cleaning - friday
drive to oregon - saturday
you know that we sedated rascal due to her unhappiness in the car,
so we made the complete drive in one day!
our original plan was to leave at 4 am
and catch up with my wonderful parents who left with the truck
the night before. however;
due to my lack of attention as to the placement of my keys,
we had a later night than was intended!
we set our alarm for 5:30, then woke up and sedated the beast ...
made sure the car was packed as tight as we could get her...
... and then we sat around until 7:30 waiting for the sedatives to kick in ...
the first 1/2 dose that we gave her did absolutely nothing,
so we gave her another 1/2 dose, put her in the carrier
and hoped for the best! luckily, as has been discussed, she did awesome!
the drive was pretty uneventful, but we started out with a beautiful rainy morning -
we like to think that logan was shedding tears because it was going to miss us!
as we crossed into idaho and then over to oregon, we saw a lot of this:
it really was a pretty drive, but our favorite part was this:
hitting the 'forest ... y' part of oregon and driving through the cascades
was absolutely beautiful, and we can't wait to head back up to explore more!
and of course ... she was happy to arrive as well!
we are so grateful that we were safe, that my parents were safe,
that rascal did well, and that nate's parents and tom met us in grants pass
to help us get settled! we have got the best families and friends ever!!
